Krave was formally know as Fusion and before that we were know as Freedom.
Freedom started off with only the 4th Saturday of the month. The original co-founders were Lisa (barmaid), Chrissy (DJ). Michael joined the group three weeks later. So the group of three formed a committee and invited David on board forming a committee of four. It was decided that Freedom was to be a non-profit venture for gays and lesbians. The dance night was held at the Masonic Club in Gosford. The venue was very outdated but it was friendly and had a great atmosphere. With a very strong security team and friendly DJ’s, Freedom was on a climb. It was not until January 7th, 2001 that Freedom went to every 1st and 3rd Saturday.
The next big change that took Freedom by storm was a spunky young boy who goes by the name of Ken. Now with Ken joining the committee we reached new heights. We were never sure if it was the new style that ken brought with him or if it was his hot looks that everyone came to perv on. It was not long till we got a permanent DJ (Daniel). With Daniel on board the committee decided to take one more step and invite Andy (Gay Support) to join it’s strides.
It was then that Freedom hit its peak, and with a name change from Freedom to Fusion and much support from the community, Fusion took big strides and become a very popular venue. But with that peak a strange turn took place. On May 2002 the Masonic Club gave notice and promptly shut it’s doors. However, the Friday before the last Fusion, after much persuading, Fusion was permitted a ‘goodbye’ bash and so ended the venue at the Gosford Masonic Club.
Two months later, after a great search at many locations, Fusion moved to it’s new home “Brothers Nite Club’ at The Entrance. It was here where Fusion took the CentralCoast by storm, and with a new venue we took new approaches. We designed a new website and changed it’s layout . Fusion with it’s new image took fast strides to being the CentralCoast’s most POPULAR gay & lesbian nite club. Sadly the committee shrunk to two soon after but a wide search brought on board some of the most clever and dedicated upcoming gay and lesbians in the community. That's right, The most amazing gay and lesbians. The Raffle Slut "Craig", and the licking "Nikkii".
With this new TEAM we took Fusion to where it is today, now being recognized in both the Sydney and Newcastle gay communities. We took new steps toward making a major impact on the entertainment of the local gay community by featuring great stars like Carlotta, Manga and our very own Shelley Legs Diamond.Due to many reasons the committee decided to change the name. And on the 5th of June 2004 we changed our name to Krave.
We THANK YOU ALL for helping make us what we are today…
